Topic: Distribution (i.e., Place) Changes
Over the years, some brick-and-mortar retailers have struggled. More customers are purchasing online, changing the distribution model.
answer-
Yes, there is increase trend of online shopping which is posing challenge and issue for offline retailers as personally i purchase many products from online site like Amazon. for retailers, which are facing this issue i would advice them to focus on its competitive advantage like retailer either provide products at low cost to customers like walmart so that they can purchase from their stores if they get best deals in retail stores or focus on differentiation like create unique feature like loyalty program in retail stores, give exclusive sales to loyal customers in stores, provide offers and credit points which can be used in future like things to attract more customers in offline shopping.
second i would advice them to focus on quality and exceptional customer service at retail stores because we can see that there are many frauds and defective items delivered online which can not be returned or if we return them they give bad customer service so retail stores can focus on that like best buys geek squad is one of the example of this.
the arguments for brick and mortar stores are that Brick and mortar have physical appearance which helps customers to build trust unlike online shhopping where we can not see who is the seller. so customers trust more brick and mortar.
Shopping in brick and mortar can be fun and exciting as we can go from one shop to another and see variety of products.
in Brick and mortar we are able to get live demo like use of phones, trail of clothes etc which is not present in online.
*hope this would help you. please please give this a LIKE. i appreciate it. thankx

Can Technology Save Sears? Sears, Roebuck used to be the largest retailer in the United States, with sales representing 1 to 2 percent of the U.S. gross national product for almost 40 years after World War II.
