Answer #1

The term biodiversity relates with diversity i.e. variety of life on earth. Different types of speices living on land and sea are example of biodiversity.

There are three main types of biodiversity on the genetic, species, and ecosystem level.

When there is diversity within species it is genetic biodiversity. Example domestic dogs

When there is diversity between species it'll be species biodiversity. Example different species of fish in ocean.

Where there is diversity between ecosystem it is ecosystem biodiversity. Example forest, desert etc.

Human are developing over time and it is becoming one of major threat to the biodiversity. The activities giving biodiversity hard time by humans are:

  • Most important yet underrated one is destruction of forest ie deforestation. Not only we're putting our oxygen in danger and carbon dioxide in environment at stakes but also destroying habitats of different creatures living on or depending upon them and that's a direct threat to our biodiversity.
  • Polluting the environment. Well pollution is giving biodiversity hard times by destroying small ponds ecosystem to whole oceans biodiversity at once.
  • Climate change, due to increase rate of temperature which is result of air pollution and green house effect our climate is also changing. And rising oceans temperature is harmful for biodiversity to melting ice in glacier is dangerous.

Natural reserve is a man made effort as protected area for many plants and animal species to live like it's their home

Yes, I live in Bhopal, MP, India and we have Van Vihar National Park here. We have a small yet important part of biodiversity as herbivores and carnivorous as well. The Bengal tiger, Asiatic lion, wild cats, Indian wolf, Sloth bear, Red fox, Indian jackal, wild dog, mongoose, striped hyena, mugger Crocodile, gharial, and snakes are the residence of this park. Those are carnivorous and herbivores as Cheetal, Sambhar, Blackbuck, Blue bull, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar, Porcupine, Hare, Rhesus Macaque, Red Monkey, Common Langur, etc those are protected here.

There can be various way to help our biodiversity get better

  • Starting with restoring habitats means less cutting down if tress.
  • Help save endangered species.
  • Save energy it indirectly effects.
  • Plant more tress.
