Two sets of cholesterol levels were obtained from the same population of males that volunteered to participate in a ongoing study that observes the rise of heart attacks in the USA.

First, are there any improvements you would suggest that would improve the effectiveness of the overall findings? Second, suppose they provide you a list of 10 males they claim were randomly sampled from their population (the cholesterol levels are placed below); third, the study claims that compared to the national average of 55 milligrams per deciliter ( mg/dL ) this sample population of 10 individuals shows significant signs of decreased cholesterol levels due to treatments they provided on site.

Looking at the data below, test whether or not the claim that is made is backed by statistical evidence demonstrated with the appropriate statistical test. Be sure to include the correct null and alternative hypotheses as well.
