Answer #1

Deming Funnel Experiment with Example:

Rule 1: Let us take an example of dropping a marble in the funnel. Initially the funnel is just placed below the marble without any adjustment. Obviously marble will move into different directions and will have lot have variance. This is the base line.

Rule 2: If we have noticed while dropping the marble into the funnel was more towards right of the hole of funnel. Now we position our marble towards right considering Rule 1 as benchmark. Now we notice that marble had lesser variance than first drop in Rule 1.

Rule 3 : Since, we had just changed the position with respect to funnel in Rule 2, now we also need to note previous position from where the marble is dropped and the then changing the position to drop the marble relatively.

Rule 4 : To fall the marble right into the hole we place it just above the hole and raise it in a straight line to make marble fall directly into the hole.
