Why do you think some immunizations required only one primary injection whereas others require one of two “booster shots” several weeks later?

Booster dose described as the extra administration of a vaccine after the previous dose. A booster injection, re-exposure to the immunizing antigen in the body.  It is used to increase immunity against specific antigens because the memory antibodies declined over a period of time. Example -Tetanus shot boosters

In some vaccines, the first dose is not enough to develop immunity. Hence multiple doses are essential to building more complete immunity. In most of the vaccine, primary injection is sufficient to develop complete immunity hence booster dose is not required.

Example - Polio vaccine requires booster dose after 6 months because the memory B and T cells produced in response to the vaccine persist only for 6 months.
