    v agina

    -1.2.3.4.5.6.

    Cervix

    -1.2.3.4.5.6.

    Fimbriae

    -1.2.3.4.5.6.

    Infundibulum

    -1.2.3.4.5.6.

    Isthmus

    -1.2.3.4.5.6.

Question 5

  1. Now, let’s do the same exercise for the male reproductive system. Place the following structures in the order that they would be encountered by sperm after leaving the seminiferous tubules of the testes.

    -1.2.3.4.

    Prostatic urethra

    -1.2.3.4.

Answer #1

Question 2:

Now – think about the gametes that are produced within both the male and female reproductive systems. Which of the following statements is incorrect?

  • Male gametes are produced in the testes, female gametes are produced in the ovaries --> TRUE
  • Sperm reach final maturation and are stored within the epididymis --> TRUE
  • Ova don’t complete their final stage of meiosis until fertilized by sperm --> TRUE
  • Both spermatogonia and oogonia produce four mature gametes for each precursor cell following maturation --> FALSE

The primary spermatocyte undergoes two meiotic divisions (meiosis I and II) to produce a matured sperm, which have haploid number of chromosomes. Each spermatocyte produces four spermatids, in all of them, the chromosome number is reduced to half.

The cytoplasmic division of the secondary oocyte results in the formation of an egg (one egg) or ovum and three polar body, both are haploid (having “n” numbers of chromosomes). The polar body degrades itself, and is not capable of being fertilized.
