  • Internal factors:
    • Structure of the organization: The structure of the healthcare must facilitate its business model. The flatter the structure, more responsible becomes the organization towards the patients
    • Culture and value system: The alignment between the culture and value system and business model of the organization, must be clear. This alignment facilitates the success of business strategies
    • Leadership: Leadership must lead by example. This inspires the workforce and resources to perform their best and facilitate the success of organization
    • Employees: If there are evident motivating factors for employees, they are bound to rise and shine in the organization. The employees form the source of competitive advantage for the company. Hence the organization must have measures to retain talent
  • External factors:
    • Government policies: The government policies must be facilitating for the service delivery of the healthcare organization
    • Economic conditions of the region: The economic conditions of the region govern the investment poured in the healthcare organization. The investments serve as a major factor behind the quality of the service delivery
    • Competition: Healthcare sector is an industry where competition is not that fierce. Every healthcare provider develops a niche for itself and hence has its own market position. However every organization needs to come up with interventions so as to maintain its market position in the industry
