Part A : Find the current through the 30 resistor.

using a KVL in loop 1, we have

- I1 (30 ) = 0

(8 V) = I1 (30 )

I1 = [(8 V) / (30 )]

I1 = 0.266 A

Part B : Find the current through the 18.4 resistor.

using a KVL in loop 2, we have

- I2 R - (5 V) = 0

[(8 V) - (5 V)] = I2 (18.4 )

(3 V) = I2 (18.4 )

I2 = [(3 V) / (18.4 )

I2 = 0.163 A

Part C : Find the current through the 8 V battery.

we know that, Itotal = I1 + I2

Itotal = [(0.266 A) + (0.163 A)]

Itotal = 0.429 A
