Assuming all of the analogous reactions occur, why would lithium chlorate be a more practical choice for the “chlorate candle” than either sodium or potassium chlorate?

90 g of LiClO3, 106 g of NaClO3 or 123 g KClO3 give 48 g of O2 so weight for weight LiClO3 gives more O2 per gram an important point when probably there are hundreds of pounds on board a sub for emergency purposes. It is however less dense and may take up more space. Note LiCLO3 also dec at a lower T than NaClO3. It was for the same reason that Apollo missions employed LiOH to absorb CO2 and not NaOH
