Let me consider a heavy machinery Industry where there are various market competitors for heavy machinery products, however every products presented by a business and make themselves much unique and differentiated from others, let me consider an organization here John Deere, within the work places or in the organizational context common issues may include like improving organizational processes and uphold CI activities, cycle time monitoring, improving productivity, Talent recruitment and managing Talent/leadership areas, further over time, it is necessary to become more innovative, What do you see as the primary alternatives for the organizational structure? The primary alternatives for organizational structure could be Project Based Organization, as Many a times organization receive both internal and External project, where as Internal project can include Improving various process data, performing Design of Experimentation, controlling various process data like Financial processes, HR Data and Manufacturing processes or check whether any variation is applicable in this context or not, look for option of response strategy, again external project like, organization receive distinct requirement from various category of customers, those look for buying the machinery products according to their business or operational need, Thus Here, the primary Alternatives for the organizational structure, we should focus on forming Project Based organization, What would be the implications of varying approaches to departmentalization? As there are common departmentalization, those can be based on Organizational functions, Process and product, Some departmentalization can be formed knowing the interest of customers, even organization can include multi departmentalization, thus, in the concept of departmentalization, functional departments include employees to engage into various functions like Manufacturing, Production, Finances, Accounting, Supply chain, Store and HR, again in if we consider Departmentalization based on products, then there could be two departments one is Equipments and project Solutions, another one is Material Handling solutions, these departments applicable for heavy machinery industry, again process based departmentalization could include various processes like Testing processes, payment processes, manufacturing processes, there are some others kind of departmentalization, those usually based on Customer segment and Geographical area, again customer need can be varied based on the quantity purchasing, based on their industrial background, and the source where they are locating, whether geographical areas create distinction in a country by serving various sides of country, those are north side, East side, West side, these way department can be formed using geographical preferences, If you were asked to give input to the committee, what organizational structure would you suggest?
