What propels the movement of chemicals like carbohydrate through the thin hyphal cells of the fungus?
How did this sharing of resources evolve? What possible advantage could there be to organisms sharing resources?
Can you provide a reasonable sequence of steps for a fungus to establish a symbiotic relationship with plants?
There are some plants (e.g., Indian pipe, orchids) that do not have chlorophyll yet they are connected to the mycorrhizal web. What would you suspect their relationship to be?
What do you anticipate the consequences are to the plants when the earth is plowed up or strip mined?
What impact might a logging practice of cutting the largest trees in the forest have on the health of the ecosystem?
1.Answer:Hyphal cells of fungus contain cells surrounded by cell wall which contain septa contained by pores through which carbohydrates are transpoted.
2.Answer:Sharing of resources between organisms is very important because each organism possess unique characteristics,by this sharing of resources all are benefited and eqilibrium in ecosystem is maintained.
3.Answer: The reason for symboitic relationship between plants and fungi(ex: Mycorhizae) involves ,the mycorhizae improves the mineral nutrition of host plants, water absorption of plants, growth and disease resistance of the plants where as fungi uses plants for reproduction, growth etc.,By the way N2o released by environment ,involves global warmingg since it is agreen house gas,so fungi controls and protects plant from it.
4.Indian pipe, orchids are the epiphytic plants where they survive or grow on other plnts.here the symbiosis is through mycorhizae where orchids are benefited from this symbiotic relationship of fungal organisms which is in relationship with the host plant, there by orchid plants get chlorophyll etc., and survive.
5. strip mining, soil ploughing involves the removal of vegetation of soil, nutrients os soil, composition of soil, naturality of soil, destroys microorganisms which are beneficial to the soil and plants.strip mining also affects neighbour lands by releasing toxix chemicals in to soil, soil unused for future agricultural purpose, farming.
6.Deforestration has major impact on Ecosystem because it causes soil erosion where soil nutrientsis damaged, climate changes,no proper rainfall,no proper survival of organisms, green house effect seen biodiversity loss, global warming etc., occurs in the ecosystem.
