Charles Darwin’s theory of natural selection is considered a paradigm shift—a theory that has wide-ranging effects. Describe another paradigm shift that has occurred in biology. Make a case for why this shift has fundamentally changed the way scientists see the world and the sorts of questions they ask. I know that realizing the earth was not the center of the universe was a paradigm shift but I'm curious how to explain how it fundamentally changed the way scientists see the world and the questions they ask because of it.

Answer #1

Discovering that DNA is the genetic material was also a paradigm shift in biology. Earlier it was thought that protein are responsible for transmission of genetic material, but after the grifth's experiment, it was like a huge hint that DNA is responsible for transmitting information but after experiment of Avery, mcleod and Mcarty, it was confirmed that DNA is genetic material.

And this was a huge thing in biology! All the scientist had to agree this because the experiment conducted by Avery et al was so beautifully explained and simple that no one could denied it.
