How do I calculate the p value , when doing calculating the chi square value in genetics , please include formula
Chi square = (observed frequency - expected frequency)^2 / expected frequency = x^2
Summation chi sqaure = add all x^2 values = calculated chi square value
Degree of freedom = number of groups - 1
Now, you have to find out critical chi sqaure value using the chi square table.
You have to check critical value at a p value of 5% or 0.05.
Suppose, calculated chi sqaure value is 0.234 and degress of freedom is 3. Use , a chi sqaure table and find out where number 0.234 will lie when degree of freedom is 3. 0.234 will lie between 1.212 and 2.366 which a p value of 0.75 and 0.50 respectively.
To accept or reject chi square, find chi sqaure value at p 0.05 and degree of freedom 3. It is 7.81 = critical value.
Our critical value is more than calculated value. So, we will accept our null hypothesis.

Hi-- I needed help calculating the critical value and calculated of chi square. Chi square=.900a df=1 asymp. significance =.343
Value: 2 For many students, calculating the chi square value is the most challenging part of conducting a chi square test so it is important to practice. Consider the following information An F1 tall, round seed pea plant is crossed with a dwarf, wrinkled seed pea plant. The following offspring are observed: Tall, round: 510 Tall, wrinkled: 495 Dwarf, round: 490 Dwarf, wrinkled: 505 a. What is the expected phenotype ratio? ## or ####, depending on what you think the...
In calculating a one-sample chi-square test, when there are 3 degrees of freedom, the variable has how many categories?
What distribution is used to calculate the p-value in the one-sample Chi-square-test for the variance? (choose one answer) Chi-square distribution t-distribution Standard normal distribution F-distribution Binomial distribution
How is the chi-square test used to analyze genetic crosses? What does the probability (p-value) associated with a chi-square value indicate about the result of a cross?
1) After doing so, find DF
2)using the df you determine previously, include your Chi-Square
Critical value in this response
3) Indicate below (written in APA format) the outcome of the
Chi-Square test you just performed.
Given the following data, determine the Chi-Square obtained statistic: 8 8 4

I need serious help with the chi-square part of this problem
(X2). I have posted this problem before and gotten the
incorrect answer, looked up previously answered questions that were
similar, and tried it myself more than a few times. If someone can
please help and show a fairly detailed step process as to how to
figure this out, that would be greatly appreciated.
