“There is no such as a truly selfless act” Name a company that has a social business model. What kind of social business model is it? Do you think that the social mission has become blurred as the company has grown? Do you think that members and stakeholders still view the company as a social enterprise? What are the key actions that the company has taken which may have diluted its founders’ original intent?
answer-
A business model is a structure, design or framework that a business follows to bring value to its customers and clients. But a social business model is the business model which makes business activities for the welfare of the society first then welfare of the other stakeholders. A social enterprise is an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in financial, social and environmental well-being—this may include maximizing social impact alongside profits for external shareholders.
According to me, the one organization i can think fit as social enterprise is TOMS company. This is company is for profit company but it also a social enterprise because of its business model "one for one" It means that for each pair of shoes sold, the company gives one pair back to kids in developing countries .
according to me, its social mission has not blurred even improved because at first company only donate shoes to children but now company provide donations to children education, food, treatment of disable children to make business as social responsible business.
I think members and stakeholders still view the company as a social enterprise because this enterprise has improved the lives of many children and make the society good and create a perspective that business can make profit as well as do social good.
Company 's actions are not diluted as i said it has still the intention to do charity, donations, treatment of children and make other business to use such model to do business as social enterprise.
