3 Marketing Philosophies:
1. Production-oriented
2. Sales- oriented
3. Consumer oriented-the right choice
Ans- 1. Production - oriented marketing philosophy: This philosophy works on " maximum production without consumer preferences." Company focus on produce as much as possible, in possible minimum cost. In this strategy company try to produce quality products with cheap price, so that profit margin can be high.
This is better than other two above discussed marketing philosophy because:
• This philosophy focus on low price of products so that every consumer can purchase. This leads to maximum selling hence maximum profit.
• Due to this there will not be case of shortage, ample amount of product is available all the time in the market.
Ans 2. Sales - oriented : This marketing philosophy works on " maximum sales without quality offerings or retaining the customers." This philosophy uses various strategies for increasing the sales like: discount promotion, cold sales calling etc so that customers can be influenced. This is suitable for short term as customer upgraded with time and demand for variety and quality both.
Sales- oriented philosophy have more advantage than other two because:
• As this philosophy believes in " buy one get one free." So, this can attract huge customers.
• It is most suitable in festive season products. In such seasonal products people don't focus on quality, price but they want items in huge amount. In this way it is more advantageous than other two in such specific seasonal products.
Ans 3. Consumer oriented - the right choice: This philosophy works on " designing the product as per needs, want, and demand of the end users." It is most effective strategy that create brand loyalty, customers retention, and leads to repetitive sales.
This is more advantageous than other two because:
• This is profitable for company in long run. As, company produces as per customer's needs, so this strategy helps in satisfying customers up to maximum extent.
• This creates brand loyalty, so customers are ready to pay whatever price of the products. So, this helps in making company wealthy. For e.g. Apple, Microsoft etc.
