What are the similarities and differences between a CAT, CT scan and X-Ray?
Which of these technologies emits harmful radiation?
- CAT scan is the another names for CT scan only. CAT stands for computerized axial tomography.
CT scan and X ray both gives us the detailed images or the cross sectional images of the body , i.e., both are used to detect anatomy.
Difference is that CT scan gives more detailed high quality images. In X rays, there might be situation where behind dense parts, a few things hide I e., Behind bones but in CT scan, it takes a detailed 360 degree picture of the body and with the help of the computer it forms a detailed view , so no hiding of parts behind dense parts anymore.
