Yes, I agree with the practice that such infractions need severe considerations and punishments, especially since we need to consider the principles of ethics, workplace safety as well as social conduct. The fact that conflict can escalate to such a point that individuals start carrying their weapons to the workplace can be considered to be a critical tipping point in the ability of the management. We need to consider what's best for the most number of individuals and therefore, when we consider such an issue, we need to adhere to the best possible outcome and therefore, the management needs to make a decision which not only is deserving for their actions but also discourages others, which could potentially be influenced with such behavior and actions to understand the consequences of their actions better. If left unpunished, it could imprint an understanding that any type of social behavior is acceptable in the company as well as the fact that the management cannot guarantee the safety of their employees, bringing into the equation a number of different problems.
