1. There is evidence that NSSI is on the rise and it is seen across a broad array of mental disorders, including depression (with approximately 40% of adolescents diagnosed with MDD report having engaged in NSSI). Scientists don’t fully understand the rise in NSSI. What do you think are some of the societal changes that may have contributed to this trend? What are some possible solutions to addressing this problem?

INTRODUCTION

Many mental issues are there in medical science which are because of societal pressure especially when we talk about stress, anxiety, depression this all is involved with much pressure and somehow societal pressure also plays an important role in that. With the changing a lot of taboo in society I think we can minimize the NSSI (Non-suicidal self-injury..) as many time presence of tension and peer pressure provokes an individual too involved in such behavior in which they do not want to harm themselves but they do harm to get attention and find them some free from aggression. If we minimize the showoff in media and demand for updating in society we can minimize the NSSI rat in youth too, as in the age of adolescent maximum individual tries to seek attention and for that, they try to do everything which can show them pro somehow in front of others, and if they are not able to optimum level then they do such things which seek attention of people that is why I think with the changes in societal living pattern we can bring changes in this ratio to.
