Explain, in your own words, what anti-windup logic is and why is it used.
Do you need to implement anti-windup logic if the actuator does not have saturation?
Do you need anti-windup if there is no integral action in the controller?
Do you need anti-windup if the plant has an integrator?

Answer #1

It guarantee the stability of compensator when feedback loop is effectively opened by saturation. It prevent divergence of integral error when control can't keep up with reference.
