The company of my Interest is an Educational Institution giving training in Professional Accountancy programme like ACCA, CPA , CIMA. The institute is registered as Limited Liability company under the name of Institute of Accounting Management (IAM) . The firm using a good management information system to handle the academics record of the students, financial information and even enables to attract the prospective customers. They were consulted by an information company, they designed this management information system. The key features are given below.
1: The student information system

1: Student Information system - Every student has to use the punching machine before entering into the class room. If a student failed to do this, within half an hour after starting the class time a text message is sent to their parents. A detailed record on the attendance of all students after classification of data is sent to the Academic coordinator.
2: Marketing Information System - The prospective customers of the institute are those who completing their 12th standard or Under graduation programme. The marketing information system enables to identify the prospective customers. This is done through scrutinizing among students.
3: Information on students fee collection and faculty payment are given in the finance information system. The list of students who failed to pay are not allowed to sit inside the classroom.Managerial decision on this is done with the help of the system.
4: Faculty Information system, provides up to date about the Faculty members. The students feedback about the teachers are recorded , classified and then analysed.
5: Operations Information system - Information on routine activities and their details are given by the operations information's system. Management can take Decisions regarding the routine operations with the help for operations management information system.
Role of Executive Support system - The Executive support system provides detailed summary about the academics,, payment, fee collection etc. This helps to the management the areas where management can do. For. E.g. If a faculty is ranked poor by the students, the management can take decision on the teacher.
