Answer:Of the four categories of culture presented by Denison and Mishra, my organization is a Mission Culture (MC). MC companies put an emphasis on a clear vision of their purpose and their goals. D&A, through its cultural Charter, has set out their vision very clearly,
Cultural Charter
Vision: To become the most Customer-focused service provider
Mission: Everyday we assist our Customers in maintaining their financial performance and reputation
Values: People. Partners. Performance
Objectives: Creating Customer-centric solutions that drive results
Company Promise: Support That Works
The vision is to be the best at what they do any all agents are given individualized quotas to meet for which they receive rewards and bonuses, in an MC “Individual employees may be responsible for a specified level of performance, and the organization promises specified rewards in return
MC’s also have “Managers (who) shape behavior by envisioning and communicating a desired future state for the organization”. At D&A the support managers and operations managers are responsible for cascading and communicating the sales and service quality goals, set out by the upper management, to their teams.
This lead to a culture, defined by Daft and Armstrong (2015) on page 338 as “a high level of competitiveness and profit-making orientation. With regular competitions to see which agent reaches the highest percentage over quota with tickets to sporting events as a prize, the social committee organizing trivia between departments, or agents who reach 110% of their weekly quota leaving early on a Friday, D&A is consistently promoting the competitiveness of the staff.
