we have given

0.2M NaOH stock

and have to prepare 100ml of 0.05M NaOH solution

we know the formula

C1V1=C2V2 (where C1= initial concentration, V1= initial volume, C2= final concentration, V2= final volume

C1=0.2

V1=?

C2= 0.05

V2= 100

V1= C2V2/ C1

= 0.05 x 100 / 0.2

=5/0.2 = 25

V1=25ml

we need 25ml of 0.2M NaOH to make 100ml of 0.05M NaOH solution.
