As a leader, do you believe it’s important to foster a mastery goal-­oriented perspective among employees (yes / no / it depends)? Why?

As a leader , yes one should believe in fostering a Mastery-Goal oriented Perspective among employees . First and foremost it is pertinent to understand what makes Mastery goal orientation a complete must , for that one has to focus on the definition / understanding of such perspective , Goal Orientation involves Focus on learning, secondly it involves the task of Mastering the same and finally involves setting of standards / Limits. So as a leader one would expect his employee to be Focussed in what has to be achieved(Goal) second it pushes the limit towards mastering the way it is to be achieved and finally trying to debunk one's limitation to achieve maximum potential.

Positive atmosphere is the most essential characteristic of a healthy company, few methods I would use to create such motivation is by : Promoting strong relationship among the superiors and employees in office , this could be done via a Townhall session in Office . Through this one could even recognise an employees hard work by rewarding , promote Risk tasking by letting the employee come with schemes to improve work space , to involve employees for a group discussion , which involves sharing concerns with regard to any problem or solution.
