I feel like everyone goes through road bumps when it comes to their jobs, especially depending on the position they hold. There are times that those road bumps turn into experiences we do not like. In my case a time a I went through a road bump was this past summer when I took on a new manager’s position over at Brooklyn. I feel like it was a mix of just everything at the beginning because it was a lot to get use to, along with managing two locations to start with. The one specific experience throughout the summer would be closing down both locations. I feel like a lot of extra work was brought upon me. One of our locations which was the Pop-Up pool was being shut completely, while the other was open until November.
The process was draining because it was doing the job of various position. I was in charge of counting all inventory and packing up. The owner was specific with wanting all supplies and product categorized so that was time consuming in itself. Along with the Pop-Up pool location we had to clear out our storage. Everything was to be spotless and clear so when the moving company came all equipment would be able to go looking new. What made these experience the one I do not like was the condition we had to do everything in. The time framing, the space we had was limited, we where in an aluminum trailer in the summer. Therefore, the heat was triple in the inside and with all the moving around it was just terrible, not to mention the smoke from the grill. Additionally, it was the end of the season so many employees were returning to college and our sales were low therefore staff was limited.
Moreover, what I could have done differently was hire candidates with a longer availability. I also do not believe this specific experience needed much skills but organization because it was a matter of getting the work done to be all done and packed. I feel like it connects more with task identity because the were a variety of areas that needed to be tackled in order to proceed to the next. For instance, in order to deep clean equipment all produce and other products needed to be out, counted, and sent to other locations. It was similar to the beginning when we opened and had to deep clean everything and count, then at the end the process was repeated but reverse since we were getting rid of mainly everything. It connects with task significance because if the produce is not transformed correctly it is nog healthy to serve to customers.
Furthermore, the autonomy degree was something I was able to do in some part because I choose where we started and how we would finish. I felt like that was important because it was like a plan we were more comfortable with since we were the ones getting the job done. If the job mentioned to do a different way with the conditions, it was in I feel like it would have been difficult being the owner does not know the flow as well as the workers who are constantly there. Feedback, definitely was great from this experience although I did not enjoy it much. It was stated that it was a job well done and they were very impressed how everything was left and sent out. However, making the job more fun I guess using the train task (all in a line passing down, since the space was limited), and friendlily competitions.

The note is about the difficulties encountered while performing tasks related to evacuation of two stores. The task required lot of details to be managed and to be executed well so that the stores can be handed out properly to the moving company with a well maintained look. The tasks of store evacuation was required to be planned from ground level i.e, deciding on the time frame, the categorization of the supplies and inventory, taking count of the inventory and packing of the material. The climate conditions made it more difficult for performing all the necessary jobs of maintaining the details and sending them to different locations in good conditions. It was a tough experience as the staff required to perform the duties was not experienced and limited due to low sales and weather conditions. Some relief factors were the autonomy available for planning and managing the jobs as it was important to maintain control. The feedback received was good for this experience although the job was difficult to do and it was not an easy experience.
The experience was eased by doing the tasks in a fun manner to reduce the stress and learning the ways of managing the whole experience in spite of the challenges . The desired results were achieved though with difficulty and hardships but there were many lessons learned from doing it like planning and managing the whole process independently.

INTERPRETING THE REAL LIFE STORY: Karen’s Experience I always disliked how my skin would get pale in the winter because I know I looked better with a tan. During the summer, my friends and I would lie out by the pool in our bathing suits. We wouldn’t even mind if we got a little sunburned, because we would just say “the burn will turn into a tan!” Before our senior prom, we all went to the tanning salon and used...

I am comfortable with opening conversation and closing conversation. I think opening conversation is like greeting and shows your kindness. I always say hi to people I meet. When I meet friends and classmates in school, I always give them a big warm greeting. Then we start the conversation naturally. As for closing a conversation, it is quite easy. It is asked you to end the conversation with some specific words. That is.to.say you have to give signals to your...

Now imagine yourself listening intently to each of the clients quoted below. First use the “You feel . . . because . . .” formula; then use your own words. Try to make the second response sound as natural (as much like yourself) as possible. After you use your own words, check to see if you have both a “you feel” part and a “because” part in your response. Case 1. A 28-year-old woman is talking about her job with...
