A management information system is a study area where we study how the use of hardware and software help us gathering, organizing, reteriving and analyzing data into relevant useful information so that we can make right decisions based on that data. Management information system create an interaction between human and system like we use our Laptop to make spreadsheets on excel so that we can make decisions like how much sales we need to do to achieve our sales target or how to forecast next sales etc like decisions.
A management information system is all about use of electronic devices to have informed decision making in our business life. Without Management information system, Managers would not be able to make effective and instant decisions because they would lack data and information which provide overview and insight what is happening in the business.
Example of Management information systems in our lives are Computers, tablets, MS office suits etc which we use to use data and convert it into useful information by analyzing and processing it.
