Re-engineering of an organization means its complete revamp or restructure. This change is very large in nature and involve each and every department of the organization and it is called as radical approach. Incremental approach means change at very small scale for example changing some procedures or rules of organizations, addition or removal of some of the staff, etc. It has a very less impact on any organization. It is obvious that to make any organization more efficient, changes made at large scale will have maximum effect rather than those made at small scale. Hence, reengineering of an organizational unit is considered a radical rather than an incremental approach.

Re-engineering implies a complete restructure - which is a large, radical change.
