I have lidocaine hydrochloride (HCl). I'm trying to convert Lidocaine HCl to pure Lidocaine form. I filter Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) to the Lidocaine HCl solution, swirling and mixing in an ice water bath. The solution becomes highly basic with white particles swimming around. This is all placed into a vacuum filtration apparatus to filter out excess water. When testing the melting point of the resulting Lidocaine powder, it's about 50°C.
