A newly discovered organism catabolizes glucose in a process that is similar to humans. It goes through glycolysis and TCA the same way a human does. But the only difference is that its ETC has six protein complexes but only five of those complexes transport proteins. Is this organism going to make less or more ATP in comparison to a human? Explain why.

In humans,there are 4 protein complexes, out of which 3 complexes operate transporting 4,4 and 2 protons.For the transport of 3 protons,1 ATP is synthesized.

If the ETC of the organism has five functional complexes,more protons will be pumped out resulting in production of more ATPs.
