Answer #1

A. it always results in adaptations perfectly suited for the environment - natural selection causes the extinction of not well adapted population to the changing environmental conditions.

B. Select traits that are not currently fit, but could be in the future- selection based on eliminating the unfit individuals to the environment producing better trait for survival of future.

E. increases mean fitness of the population- average reproductive success increases on high survival rate thereby increases mean fitness.

NOT applicable options:

act on individuals, not species - it does not acts on individuals but acts on populations by changing the traits in population on eliminating unfit populations resulting in genetic variation.

is a random process- natural selection is not random process, it selects the adaptable individuals in a non- random process, random process may lead to unsucessful population.

Select all of the statements about genetic drift that are true. It can cause alleles to be lost in a population by chance. Genetic drift causes allele frequencies to change because only the strongest individuals in a population are reproducing Its strength is proportional to the size of a population -the larger the population, the greater the force Smaller populations experience greater changes in allele frequency due to genetic drift than large populations. It is a random process with respect...
