Five effects of aging on the visuaL structure-

  1. Presbyopia- as the age advances the lens of the eye becomes less flexible and not  able to thicken thus unable to focus on nearby objects
  2. Thining of conjuctiva
  3. dry eyes- due to reduction in tear production.
  4. detachment of retina
  5. cataract
  6. Enopthalmos-In older people, the fat around the orbit start shrinking, causing the eyeball to sink into the orbit.
  7. The muscles that squeeze the eyelids shut becomes weak with age.That may cause pitosis
  8. pupils- become smaller; react more sluggish with light .
