A. a species which is choosen to raise support for biodiversity conservation in a given place or social context is called flagship species. Role - flagship species are increasingly used by environmental agencies as tools to trigger concern for the species and community members are motivated to conserve the flagship species and it's habitat. Ex - Bengal tiger.

B. The species which are selected for making conservation related decision mainly because by protecting these species indirectly many other species that make up the ecological community of it's habitat are protected. Role - along with these soecisp others species are also protected.

C. Species which serves as a measure of the environmental conditions that exist in a given locale .. example- mosses usually indicate acid soil. Role - the indication of the total health of the ecosystem is given by the existence, nonexistence or comparative well being of indicator species in a given environment .

D. The species that exist only in one geographical region due to climate change ,urban development or other occurrence are called endemic species. They are often endangered.

E. Methane, carbon dioxide, ozone, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbon.
