Explain the dual role HR managers play in terms of serving both management and staff. Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation at work or school? Were you able to keep both grounds happy? How were the challenges you faced similar to those faced by HR managers?
HR manager is like a Bridge between Management and staff because HR manager plays dual role where HR manager has to provide information to Management like supervisor, managers in other department about employee or staff . HR managers also hear problems and issues of Its staff then communicate those to Supervisor and managers.
for example- An employee is facing an issue that another co worker is passing inappropriate comment and touching in bad manner so Employee goes to HR manager. Then HR manager hear the issue and inform the management. This is like HR manager is playing the role of Advocate.
another example in which A manager need a sales executive which is vacant so HR manager do the function of recruitment and selection to hire candidate for sales executive position for management.
Yes, i have been in such situation at school where i was president of budgeting club for sports and arts .in this, Students in club ask me to tell management to approve the budget set by club students. then i give the budget to management of school for approval. If there is new policies related to club then management of school tell me and i convey the message to students of club.so i also have been in dual role position which was very difficult.
I would say, i was able to keep both ground happy because i hear the both sides and convey the message directly to end party. I believe in removing conflicts so if i face difficult situation then i find middle ground which would benefit the both.
for example- if students ask for more budget which is not approved by school management as it is going above quota so i ask students to lower the budget and try to remove things which are not necessary now so that management can pass the budget.
The challenges that i faced were similar to Faced by HR manager because Conflicts can be arise when you do dual roles. You need to be problem solver which HR managers should do. Communication gaps and issue can arise so you need to be effective at communication if you are an HR manager.
