1)AAS is a spectro analytical method, in which the energy absorbed by the substance is measured.
While,AES is technique in which the energy emitted by the atoms is measured.
2) In AAS the monochromatic light is used to excite the electrons.
While, in AES flame is used for excitation of electrons.
3) In AAS, when monochromatic light is bombarded at the sample then atoms absorb energy & this absorption of Energy is measured.
While, in AES when the flame light is bombarded at the sample, then absorption of energy take place through the electrons which get excited. And in the later, this energy is measured.
