How does the fact that traditional South African companies are increasing their presence in other African countries factor into your decision?
It is true that South African companies are increasing their presence in other non-African countries. Though Africa is a vast country, it is a fragmented market. The population is about 4 million people however they are distributed across the nation. It lacks proper infrastructure that it does not even have major transportation such as roadways and railways to connect the people and business. In fact, it costs cheaper to do global business in a foreign country than in Africa. Since the economy too is poor, the traditional South African companies look for global opportunities to grow and develop their business. In fact, this is an encouraging move for all the traditional South African companies. The fact that traditional South African companies are increasing their presence in other African countries factor into my decision in terms of inspiration and motivation. The reason is that South Africa is lacks skilled labor and the businesses do not suffer from this kind of economy instead they seek for ways of improving their businesses eventually resulting in increased GDP. This is a classic example of being determined to develop the businesses. Though the culture differs, I would consider this factor in my decisions to also be determined and help others to thrive like that of the traditional South African companies.
