suspects
a. The police must inform the suspects about the Constitution's
Fifth Amendment, that is, a suspect has the RIGHT to refuse to be a
witness against him/herself.
b. The police must also inform the suspect about the Sixth
Amendment, that guarantees an attorney to the suspect.
These rights of a detained criminal suspect are known as Miranda Rights.
