Surely you all started the course with some previous experience with literature. It may not have been 20^thCentury World Literature and you may not even remember the author’s name, historical background, or characters’ names. But, here’s betting that if it was good literature, you can remember the story and the overall meaning behind it.

Good literature captures us and can stay with us for many years – influencing our daily lives without us even knowing it. For example, if you once read a story about a middle aged man who became homeless after losing his wife and children in a car accident, you may be the one to stop and drop some coins into an old hat instead of just walking by. Human stories of triumph, struggle, and loss help us to empathize with each other and look past the external stereotypes that we can so often blind ourselves with.

The poem 'If' by Rudyard Kipling indeed has a tremendous impact in my life this is because of the fact that the poem actually tells me about what I had been struggling all throughout my life and then it had made me realise why my approach is wrong to my problems and this is because in the poem, Rudyard wonderfully tells you how how you have to act during disaster at the same time how your behaviour should be when you are actually win and when you panic when there is actually a disaster or something that is undesirable for you then it wouldn't solve your issue and this actually motivated me to stay calm and silent during any situation and this has moulded me as a better person on the whole.
