Based on your reading of Federalist 10 answer the following question: 5. Is his remedy useful in today's civic culture?
Madison brings out the dangers of factions in a democratic government but ensures that these factions would prevent the government becoming tyranny. He points out that factions in one state might not be able to take control of the entire nation as it is too big to occupy. He also acknowledges that faction would be able to force the government to budge tot their demands and when it is done by a majority group, it would affect the minority. He thus emphasizes on the importance of protecting the minority rights. His remedy of a republican style government would suit today’s civic society because people would be controlling the government and not vice versa. However, he suggests that the government should be in a position to control these factions and provide equal governance to all people.
