Answer #1

All the bones are lined with lining cells that are derived from the osteoblasts. These cells are involved in movement of calcium in and out of the bones. Calcium can enter the bone fluid compartment by passive diffusion through lining cells. Diffusion of calcium from extracellular fluid into the bone compartment is driven by lower intracellular calcium concentration than that of ECF. Calcium is actively transported from bone cells into the ECF. So, lower concentration of calcium inside the bones allows its passive diffusion. And exit of calcium from bones into ECF needs active transport due to higher calcium concentration of ECF.
