Have you been trained in your company's emergency evacuation plan? That is, do you know what to do and where to go in different scenarios, i.e. fire, weather, threats of violence, etc.?

Do you know of at least three different means of egress from your typical work location?

If you are working in a different location, do you take the time to identify the exits, etc.?

Evacuation plan is document which required by Occupational safety and health administration standards. This plan is to facilitate and organize employer and employee actions during workplace emergencies. This plan is a part of security of an employees and well developed and proper training will give result to the company for less damage and less injury. If a plan is not well developed then the organisation will face very hefty loss for it's liabilities and assets too. Yes, I trained under this plan, the minimum requirements are like, taking what was learned from workplace evaluation and describing hoe employees will respond to different types of emergencies. Making a plan is not enough to ensure safety for employees, it take a training, supervision, coordination to ensue a safe and successful evacuation.

What to do and where to go in different scenarios i.e fire etc. I'll take an scenario of fire, so if we are trapped in building during fire so first don't panic in this situation Activate the fire alarm, we have stay calm and try to evacuate the building immediately, never use elevators use stairs instead of elevators, Stay low to avoid smoke, if heat and smoke come in slam the door tightly with towels, newspaper in the doors, Move quickly to an open air from building. In case you're trapped in a room then you have to close as many doors as possible between you and the fire, seal the door just because to stop smoke enter into the room, dial fire brigade and tell them a complete information for which they may reach you as soon as possible. Many workplace have a fire extinguisher use them it will help you to evacuate from the building and go to the safe place like open air , ground etc.

3 means of egress are:

  1. Permissible exit components. An exit shall consist only approved components. Exit Components shall be constructed as an integral part of the building.
  2. Protective enclosure of exits. Exit is protected by separation from other parts of the building the separating construction shall meet any opening therein shall be protected by an approved self closing fire door.
  3. egress capacity and occupant load here capacity of floor, balcony etc and occupant load means number of people that may be in the space at any time.

Yes, of course first of all i'll not be panic if i found myself under any situation because if a person get panic then it will not be able to thunk positive, how to evacuate from this situation, it will take very little time to identify the exits and then take a quick action and get evacuate to the safer place.
