1. Some might say it was bad luck. Others will tell you it’s life and you’d better get used to it. You’ve just gotten a new team leader, and within the first week, it was clear to everyone that she is as “autocratic” as can be. The previous leader was very “democratic,” and so is the higher-level manager, with whom you’ve always had a good working relationship. Is there anything you and your co-workers can do to remedy this situation without causing anyone, including the new boss, to lose their jobs? 2. You’ve just been hired as a visual effects artist by a top movie studio. The team you are joining has already been together for about two months. Th ere’s obviously an in-group when it comes to team leader and team member relationships. This job is important to you; the movie is going to be great résumé material. But you’re worried about the leadership dynamics and your role as a newcomer to the team. What can you do to get on board as soon as possible, work well with the team leader, and be valued by other team members? 3. Okay, it’s important to be “interactive” in leadership. By personality, though, you tend to be a bit withdrawn. If you could do things by yourself, that’s the way you would approach your work. That’s your comfort zone. Yet you are talented and ambitious. Career growth in your field requires taking on management responsibilities. So, here you are agreeing to take over as a team leader in your first upward career move. Can you succeed by leading within your comfort zone? If not, what can you do to “stretch” your capabilities into new leadership territories?

1. From the given scenario it could be understood that the current employees of the organization is used with the demographic leadership by the higher level management and also by their previous managers. The present manager being autocratic can make the performance of the employees lower. If this issue is highlight to the top management the new leader’s job may be lost or can cause some other issues.

Hence in order to rectify this issue the opinions and preferences of the employee for being democratic can be communicated to the leader formally and informally so that she can understand the organizational structure and culture. This can change her attitude. An effective and relevant communication between the manager and the employees can rectify this issue.

2. In order to establish good team dynamics and to work well with the team, it is essential to build up an effective communication and interaction. the individual can generate a good rapport with each team member and can provide them a space for interaction. This can enhance communication and information sharing which is essential for an effective team performance. Being professional and target oriented is essential for an effective team dynamics. The individual should provide importance to the trust worthiness so that team objectives can be achieved effectively.

3. Leading a team being in the comfort zone of the personality is not a possible task. The leaders has to be more interactive. According to the given scenario the individual should extend his capabilities to be an effective leader of a manager. He can take up courses in order to develop the interactive skills. Communication skills etc which can extend his capabilities. He should possess listening skills, understanding the behaviour of others, convincing and controlling etc in order to lead a team and to achieve the team goals.
