FIND A NEED AND FILL IT
The text emphasizes that marketing is not a matter of taking a product and selling it, but of finding a need and filling it. Look around you—around your campus, your home, or your job—do you see a need that is unfilled? If you’re having trouble finding a need, try to remember the times you’ve said, “Somebody ought to do_____,” or “Somebody ought to make______.” That somebody is going to be you!
Fill the need you have identified by following the marketing process. The steps of the marketing process are listed below. Write down what you would do at each step.
STEPS IN THE MARKETING PROCESS:
1. Find a need.
2. Develop a product or service to fill that need.
3. Define the term “concept” as it relates to marketing. Then, test your concept for this product.
4. Define the term “prototype” as it relates to marketing. Since it isn’t possible to design a prototype, provide a detailed description of what your prototype would look like.
5. Define the term “test market” as it relates to marketing. Describe in detail how you would test market this product.
6. Think of a name for your product.
7. Design packaging for your product.
8. Set a price for your product.
9. Define “distribution” of your product. Decide how you will distribute this product.
10. Define “promotion” as it relates to marketing. Describe how you will promote your product to your customers.
11. Identify which of the above steps represents each of the 4 Ps of marketing.

3.The marketing concept is the philosophy that firms should analyze the needs of their customers and then make decisions to satisfy those needs, better than the competition. It helps organizations plans, design strategies and execute their marketing strategies to get target consumers.By surveys I will evaluate consumer acceptance of a product idea prior to the introduction of a product to the market. It helps to identifies points of product weakness and potential market failure that can be fixed before launch. It can also reveal product strengths that would be useful to enhance.
4.A prototype is a representation of a product idea, whether it is a simple model you put together yourself, a 3D print out or a highly refined version produced by a prototyping firm. Several prototypes are likely to be built, assessed and tested before a product comes to market.
