[E] None

[2] Despite the costs of implementation and maintenance, networks actually save organizations money by allowing them to:

[A] Decentralize data storage                   [B] Share peripheral devices like printers

[C] Decrease internal and external communications   [D] Decrease productivity and collaboration

[3] Advantages of client-server networks include the following:

[A] Difficult to expand (scalable)               [B] Difficult to support

[C] Decentralized services                       [D] Easy to back up

[4] ___________rules or standards that describe how hosts communicate and exchange data

[A]
Protocols    [B] Procedures    [C] A and B   [D] None

[5] A _________ is a portion of a network with a common network address.

[A] Subnet     [B] Client    [C] Server   [D] None

[16] A device called a terminator is placed at one end of the trunk cable.

[A] True      [B] False

[8] A topology that describe the way the message (information) is sent is:

[A] The Physical Topology   [B] The Logical Topology   [C] Central Bus Topology

[9] With _____________ Signals travel in one pre-determined direction around the ring;
each device on the network acts as a repeater to send the signal to the next device until it
        reaches the destination node.

[A] Star Topology   [B] Ring Topology   [C] Bus Topology

[10]   With a Star Topology:

[A] All network connections are located in a single place, which makes it easy to troubleshoot
      and reconfigure.

[B] Nodes can be added easily but difficult to be removed from the network.

[C] Cabling problems usually affect many nodes.                      [D] All of the above

Answer #1

Answer)

1) Protocol

This is considered as a basic network component which would share the common device, feature, function that would have relevant server. data, a client machine, shared devices, required hardware and software, LOS and NIS.

2) Share the peripheral device such as printer

The major advantage being the resource sharing which would use the network connected peripheral devices such as scanner, or the printer which could be well shared with the users and also be efficient yet cost-effective with a secured network.

3) This would be much easier to create a backup

It is because the client-server network would have a centralized control which would also reduce the data replication which in turn making it more efficient and easy for a data backup

4) Protocols

This is the kind of rules and regulation which are set with the considerable format, for transmitting and receiving the data of the system with the network devices. It uses the required standards.

5) Subnet

This is defined to be a part of the network which would share the common address component. All the IP address would contain the same prefix.

6) Internet

It is the VPN or the Internet which is otherwise the private network which would have the public network for connecting with the remote sites or the users.

As per the Chegg policy, one question will be answered, whereas we have a tendency to do more for our students. We did six.
