Answer #1

The process of the path a nerve impulse travels throughout your body from stimulus to response is given below -

  • The receptors at the site of stimulus is the dendrites of the nerves.
  • It accepts impulse and it travels through the neuron.
  • When a nerve impulse reaches the end of an axon, the axon releases chemicals called neurotransmitters.
  • Neurotransmitters travel across the synapse between the axon and the dendrite of the next neuron.
  • Neurotransmitters bind to the membrane of the dendrite.
  • The binding allows the nerve impulse to travel through the receiving neuron.
  • By this way, it travels from neuron to neuron till it reaches the brain which will respond to the stimulus.
