1) The three most interesting , surprising and helpful topics that I came across in this course are :

A) The Concept of Cognitive Dissonance:

I came across the concept of cognitive dissonance in Organisational Behavior which seemed pretty interesting and helpful for me because it increased my understanding about the situations people are usually in which makes them uncomfortable to make decisions as their beliefs and interests contradict with each other.

I have undertood that Cognitive dissonance refers to the various situations that an individual faces sometimes which causes a personal discomfort to him.

I have also came across various such situations in my life where my beliefs did not resonate with my interests. The activity conducted to recognize cognitive dissonance I face helped me gain better understanding about how to come out of it. ...For example I had to choose between going to party with my friends or to attend seminar which could prove beneficial for my future studies. I was thus in a conflict between my interest and belief to whether missing the seminar would result in loss or not.

B) Cognitive and perception errors :

Another most fascinating and surprising topic in organisational behavior and management was the knowledge about how various cognitive errors such as recency , horn effect, halo effect, primacy, bias etc can put an influence the way a person reacts or responds to the situation or people.

I came across how these cognitive or perception errors influence the decision making of an individual and was surprised by the fact that my decisions are also influenced by such errors.

I learnt how I use cognitive errors by the activity of introspection of decisions we make. When I treat somebody or judge them on the basis of my first encounter with them or the first impression they put on me, I am a victim of primacy errors.

Moreover I came to know that these cognitive errors are the real basis of stereotypes and prejudices prevailing in organisations and people.

C) The concept of change :

It was exciting to study and become aware about how the organisational change helps the organizations grow and how embracing change makes business more adaptable to dynamic environment. Change in life is also inevitable as nothing remains the same thus it is beneficial to adopt to such changes whether related to onesice or environment.

It was really helpful learning how to overcome resistance to change and the lecture provided about the theories of change like Kurt lewin model and force field analysis helped me better judge how to decide about why and how change should be implemented effectively. I can now implement these concepts to change my habits also.

The Kurt Lewin model of of Change will now help me to change the habit of waking up late in the morning.
