Hi, I have a quick question. Are you allowed to create and use your own forecasting spreadsheet while taking a Capsim Capstone? Any rules against that?
Forecasting techniques are formed based on research and its scientific validation that takes into account former performances, current and future trends, possible obstacles in the process, etc., prior to reflecting the values for the future. If your forecasting spreadsheet is based upon similar ideas but yet primarily different from the forecasting spreadsheets that are already present, then you need to also prove its validity and suitability to your given Capstone project, to convince its applicability upon the project. Alternatively, it makes more sense to use the forecasting spreadsheets that are time-tested for its validity and reliability to forecast the future values and outcomes of a given Project. The rule against your own forecasting spreadsheet would be only that if it defies reliability across other cases, then it is application could be questionable.
