Lymphogranuloma Venereum (LGV)is gram negative is caused by Chlamydia Trachomatis and is sexually transmitted. Causes swelling and nodes in the groins.

Chancroid is gram negative and is caused by Haemopholius ducrey. It can be sexually transmitted. Causes pain and discomfort as well as discharges.

Bacterial Vaginosis is neither gram negative or positive is caused by Gardnerella Vaginalis. this occurs when the PH balance is off balanced, unclean sex, scented soap and powders and lotions. This could cause a fishy odor, inflammation and a greywhite discharge.

In the textbook reading it notes that rates of these infections have increased in the US. What factors to you think has lead to the increase in the number of new infections despite the country being so developed and medically advanced?

These infections have increased in the US despite it being so well developed and medically advanced because of decreased usage of protective measures while having sexual intercourse among young men and women and transgenders. There are a lot of youngsters indulging in taking drugs via injections and then they end up in using used injections which then results to contract these diseases. There were many services that used to screen people and follow up patients for treatments. But in recent years these services have gone down and due to poverty some people gets behind in schedules for timely treatments.
