Opportunity cost is next best forgoen alternative in the above example Folding a laundry takes 90 minutes and doing the dishes takes 30 minutes. So in case you are doing the dishes you are waisting your 60 minutes in which you can wash your dishes twice. Opportunity cost = 90-30 = 60.
