A company typically has many systems it wants to build, but unfortunately, it usually doesn’t have the resources to build all the systems. How does a company decide and/or evaluate which systems to build?
Few steps the company can take to decide which systems to build include:
1. Check what all systems are available, what needs to be scrapped, what can be salvaged.
2. Gather requirements for all systems that needs to be build.
3. Prioritize the requirements, and check what things are in common, in order to optimize the build process
4. Check the budget availability and allocation.
5. Focus on products where ROI is higher, after having prioritized the requirements.
6. Check for manpower availability, skillset needed, any hiring or re-tasking is needed.
