An analogy is a comparison between two things, their structure, purpose, respectively. For this assignment you are going to create analogies for each organelle in a cell. The analogy for each organelle should relate to the function and or structure of the organelle and to your chosen topic. For example, the analogy topic is the human anatomy. Each organelle and organ of the body has a relationship to each other. The nucleus of a cell functions as the control center giving instructions and stores genetic information and the brain functions as the control center for the body sending signals to all parts of the body. All of your cell organelles must be analogous to your topic parts and functions. Topics can be a vehicle, business, the government, etc. Post your analogies to the discussion board or upload your response. Do not do an analogy on Human Anatomy.

Create an analogy for all the organelles, which includes Prokayotic cells and Eukaryotic cells.

Suppose a party is goin on a cell then how every role is played by a person in a party that will be the real function of a cell organelle.

Cytoplasm- party plot as everything happens in a party plot in the same way all reactions take place in the cytoplasm.

Nucleus- organiser - as all the things in a party are taken care of by an organiser in the same way nucleus controls all the actions in the cell.

Mitochondria- DJ and electricity. A party is incomplete without DJ and electricity in the same way a cell is incomplete without mitochondria. Electricity is a form of energy. And mitochondria produce ATP which is energy currency of the cell.

Plasma membrane- as a gatekeeper checks and selectively allow only those people who have invitation card. In the same way plasma is selectively permeable.

Bodyguard- as we have bodyguard to take care of unwanted guest or circumstances in the same way a cell has lysosomes. They are known as suicidal bags.

Food dept- there are two types of people in a party -

Diet conscious- they mainly eat protein rich diet. They are taken care of by ribosomes and rough endoplasmic reticulum.

They both make proteins.

Pizza lovers- they are taken care of by smooth endoplasmic reticulum. They synthesise fats.

We do give return gifts to our guests so for that we have a gift wrapper and in this case it is Golgi body which will package and modify all the gifts for the guests. In cell Golgi packages and transport all the proteins.
