INCUBATION:- It is a process which promotes the growth of the microorganisms by using certain factor like temperature.

Incubation is occur at a certain temperature. It is important to incubate the plate above 37°c because it is the optimum temperature of well known microorganisms like yeast, staphylococcus etc. Incubation always occur in a smooth manner at optimum temperature and 37°c is the human body temperature so some microbes of body also grow smoothly at this temperature.

So, 37°c is the usual temperature of incubation of microbiological plates.
